I am very excited about unveiling in 2015 a new all-ages program I’ve created called Mr. David’s Marvelous, Magical Murals. The program is designed to encourage children to bring an expansive idea to life by looking through each other’s eyes and collecting multiple ideas that expand the group’s critical thinking together. There will be a big blank piece of paper that awaits a big story to be told by an ensemble creating a mural together. The mural will depict what children see in their communities and neighborhoods on their way to the library in spring/summertime. Participants will learn to negotiate size, location and scope of images in the mural while exploring their creativity together. Upon completion, the mural will be offered as a gift to the library to decorate its interior, courtesy of its future residents!
